Louisiana and New Orleans radio from 1967 to 1997. His radio show was one 

of the most popular call-up and talk shows and was entitled, “The Detectives” with the late Captain 

Van H. Flynn and the late Larry Reagan on WSMB and WGSO radio. This anti-crime radio show later became, “Crimewave on WTIX radio in New Orleans and WJBO radio in Baton Rouge, La. Irv also served as the Chairman of the Louisiana Pardon Board and was a member of the state parole board after retiring as a New 0rleans police detective and supervisor. Additionally, Irv Magri

 Founded the Police Association of New Orleans (PANO) and served as the 

State President of 22 police unions throughout Louisiana. He also had his own fishing show on local television in the 1970s.

 

If you have never been to Grand Isle, we would love to show you around. If 

given enough advanced time and weather permitting, Irv will give you a boat ride around part of Grand Isle so that you can view it from either the bay or 

the Gulf of Mexico. Adults only and no alcohol are allowed on the boat trip.
